Students have the opportunity to further their education at the Department of Meteorology and Geophysics of the University of Vienna with a Bachelor's degree in Meteorology and Climate. Our Bachelor's programme

The Bachelor's degree programme in Meteorology and Climate Science provides the foundation for understanding the processes and interactions that occur in the atmosphere across all scales, from weather to climate. Describing and analysing these processes requires a solid background in mathematics and physics, which is established during the first stages of the programme.

Our Master programme

The English-taught Master's degree programme in Meteorology and Climate Science provides advanced scientific training in the field. Students have the opportunity to specialize in Environmental Meteorology, Weather, Climate, and Computational Modelling and Simulation.

Directorate of Studies

The Directorate of Studies (Studienprogrammleitung, SPL) is responsible for ensuring the quality of academic programs and teaching, making and implementing decisions related to academic regulations, planning the course portfolio, and overseeing processes related to examinations and academic theses. In carrying out these responsibilities, the SPL is supported by the Student Service Center (SSC).
