Studies
Studies at the Department of Meteorology and Geophysics
Students have the opportunity to further their education at the Department of Meteorology and Geophysics of the University of Vienna with a Bachelor's degree in Meteorology and Climate. Further studies are offered in the Master and the PhD school VISESS (Vienna International School of Earth and Space Sciences).
Furthermore, on this page you will find information about the Alumni Community, International Mobility and Theses.
Our Bachelor's programme
The Bachelor's degree programme in Meteorology and Climate Science provides the foundation for understanding the processes and interactions that occur in the atmosphere across all scales, from weather to climate. Describing and analysing these processes requires a solid background in mathematics and physics, which is established during the first stages of the programme.
Through the link below, you will find key information about the programme, including statistical data as well as the curriculum, which outlines the courses and requirements to be completed during your studies.

International Mobility
Here we collect all the relevant information for the students interested in Erasmus+ mobility, both outgoing and incoming. We focus on specific themes that are relevant for students in Meteorology. General information on all aspects of student mobility, not specific to our discipline, is given in the web pages of both the International Office and the Faculty of Earth Sciences, Geography and Astronomy of the University of Vienna. Refer to those webpages for anything related to the application process and the administrative procedures.
