A new paper about microplastics acting as ice nucleating particles, led by Daria Tatsii, is out.
“Do Microplastics Contribute to the Total Number Concentration of Ice Nucleating Particles?”
Our group was involved in a recent study linking lead pollution from silver mining in Roman times (as recorded in Arctic ice cores) to a possible decline in IQ in the general population.

New team member: On December 1st, Alessandra Cera started her MSCA funded project “Analysis of FLOATing microplastics: from the atmosphere to lakes” (FLOAT) in our group.
During two years, FLOAT will investigate the emission, transport and deposition of airborne microplastics and their contribution to the contamination of lakes by combining simulations and direct measurements.
