Students of postgraduate studies in Meteorology at the Department of Meteorology and Geophysics (IMGW) under supervision of Univ. Prof. Dr Vlado Spiridonov, guest professor of the Faculty of Earth Sciences, Geography and Astronomy at Vienna University, successfully completed their study work for preparation of their research work from the subject Mesoscale Dynamics titled "Analysis of 10 July mesoscale phenomena over Austria" and a poster titled "Numerical simulation of a tornadic supercell using a convective cloud model" within the postgraduate course: Exercises in Mesoscale Dynamics.
From the very beginning of the courses, they showed interest and desire to achieve and deepen their knowledge and understanding of the mesoscale processes, instabilities, mountain waves, convection, various mesoscale phenomena, as well as the influence of the orography on the atmospheric systems and on the air movement and precipitation.
In the end, the students showed their creativity, analytics and skills, which will enable them to independently prepare their works in their further careers, and give some potential advantages in their future studies and professional work in the field of meteorology.
