The Department of Meteorology and Geophysics hosts at Oct, 2/3, 2014, in cooperation with the WMO joint working group on forecast verification research (JWGFVR) and the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) a kick-off meeting to the subject "Verification of weather forecast models in complex terrain (MesoVICT)".
The goal of the project is a better understanding of the features of the new verification methods even in complex terrain, developing methods for verification of ensemble forecasts and to quantify the effect of the uncertainties in the observations on verification quantities.
