FWF project "STABLEST" to start in October

The Austrian Science Fund (FWF) recently awarded funds for a three-years research project by the Theoretical Meteorology Group, led by Prof. Vanda Grubišić. The "STABLEST" project (Stable boundary layer separation and turbulence) begins on October 1st 2012 and focuses on high-resolution modelling and on the analysis of observations of boundary layer processes in mountainous areas.

Dr. Stefano Serafin will be leading "STABLEST" as a principal investigator. Two PhD students (Johannes Sachsperger and Lukas Strauss) as well as one Master student per year will be working on various aspects of the project.
The FWF grant includes funds to support cooperation and exchange with other research groups in Austria, France, and the US.
