We deployed a 20 meter wide array of 100 Fairfield ZLand geophones and four additional Hyperion infrasound sensors. The acoustic sources were firecrackers and rockets as used in fireworks. Almost the entire geophysics team and additional students helped to record numerous explosion during winterly conditions. The data will now be analyzed to investigate how acoustic waves couple into the ground and how sensitive the geophones are for acoustic signals. We hope to gain new insight in particular in the context of our emerging field project "ThunderSeis" - wich investigates the infrasonic signals created during thunderstorms with the help of Seismometers.
